Profile

A driven and self-motivated games development student. Particular interest in C/C++ development, but eager to expand technical experience in new directions. Strong technical background through practical academic and personal projects, focussed around but not limited to game development. Knowledge of and experience in most aspects of games programming. Experience working with and coordinating a small team on a project. High working standards and passionate about clarity and structured code. Some game design and analytical experience.

  • Title: Player Performance Measurement and Real-Time Adaptive Track Generation in a Racing Simulation. Involves and is providing experience in extensive analysis of an existing game written in C/C++ with little external support or existing documentation. Also involves a bespoke implementation extending the existing code, and critical evaluation of the resulting gameplay.

Personal Interests

  • Hill and Mountain Walking – Being a computing student and enthusiast, I believe it's important to get out and away from the screen every now and then. I enjoy hill and mountain walking throughout the UK, mostly in Derbyshire and Cumbria.
  • Kayaking – Following on from my previous statement, I also like to get out on the river from time to time in my own Kayak, and hold a BCU (British Canoe Union) membership.
  • Gaming – As an aspiring game developer, it's only natural that I also have an interest in video games.
